Real businesses. Real judgment, built in.

Named where we can be, with the numbers. And where Unwin Works came from.

Convene, an independent café in Stockport

The most complete proof of what we do. Convene is a seasonal, ingredient-led café, and its tools run through almost every part of it.

Accounts are sorted automatically, with an accountant signing off. The rota follows forecast covers. Stock is ordered from the till and the bookings. Marketing, hiring, menus and the paperwork all run through tools built around how the café actually works, and the team runs the day from one shared app.

The result is a small team with the back office of a far larger one.

A health founder with a high public profile

A founder running several health businesses, with a fast-growing audience. The problem wasn’t output. It was that she was needed at every step: every post, edit and layout went through her.

We wrote down her standards for writing, editing and design, then built them into the tools her team uses: forecasting that spotted topics early, and checks that hold every piece to her bar. The team now works to her standard without her.

AI lead, policy and partnerships · 2020 to 2025

Tony Blair Institute for Global Change

One of the world’s most influential policy institutes, advising governments across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Kyle became the division’s AI lead, building AI into reporting, research and production.

Inside the organisation, AI systems that did the work of whole teams. Outside it, helping national governments see what AI could do in practice. Same work as now; different scale.

Kyle Unwin, founder

Why Unwin Works exists.

Kyle spent a decade where AI, communications and strategy meet: Westminster, a global policy institute, a fast-growing health business and a Stockport café.

He kept seeing the same thing. The tools changing institutions at the top were untouched a few rungs below, in businesses that already worked. Not because their owners lacked ambition, but because nobody had sat down with them, understood how they run, and built it in.

“Most businesses don’t have an AI problem. They have a clarity problem. AI just makes it visible.”

Bring your goals. We’ll bring the questions.

The first conversation is free and commits you to nothing. In person or on a call. If AI isn’t the answer for your business, you’ll hear that from us first.

You’ll talk to Kyle UnwinFounder. Based in Stockport, working across the UK.
